For palliative therapy to maintain the patency of
ductus arteriosus in neonates with congenital
heart disease until surgery is possible.

Begin IV with 0.05- 0.1 mcg/kg/min after
a therapeutic response is achieved, reduce the infusion rate to the lowest dosage that maintains the response.
If response to 0.05mcg/kg/min is inadequate,
dosage can be increased up to 0.4 mcg/kg/min.
Renally Impaired Patients : No dosage adjustment required. |
